This is Guru Dongmar Lake situated at 5212 Meters (17100 Ft.). This Lake is blessed by Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava). Guru Rinpoche is considered to be one of the reincarnation of Buddha and was born in Swat valley ( now in Pakistan). I visited this place on 18-19 April 2011.

The air is so thin that you can hardly breathe. To reach this place you have to start from Lacheng (5 Hrs drive from Lacheng). Use 4x4 because at places there are no roads....
See the crystal clear water. It is widely believed that this water has medicinal properties. It is such a beautiful place that you don't want to go away from here. Sadly you need to move before 12 O'clock as It is very close to the Border and weather can turn bad any moment.
It will not take less than 3 hours to do Parikrma of the lake. It is a very arduous exercise and only VERY FIT should attempt it. It is said that the lake gets completely frozen during the winter (It was frozen 90% when I visited in peak summer) except for one spot blessed by Guru Rinpoche.
